Business Terms

GetFriendly for Business ยท Last updated: 4 June 2026

These Business Terms apply when you create or operate a Friendly Business account. They are in addition to our general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy โ€” where there is a conflict for business accounts, these Business Terms take precedence. By creating a business account you agree to all three.

In short: Friendly Business lets a real venue, club, group or organisation list itself and host real-world events for members. You are responsible for your business, your events and what you offer. GetFriendly is a listing and discovery platform โ€” not the organiser of your events and not a party to any sale between you and a customer.

1. Who can hold a business account

You must be authorised to act for the business you register, be 18 or older, and provide accurate information. One business account per organisation/venue for now. You're responsible for everything done under your account.

2. Verification

Before a business can publish events or appear on the Friendly Map, we verify it by hand using the details you provide (such as a website or Google listing). We may approve, request more information, decline, or later withdraw verification at our discretion. Verification is a basic authenticity check โ€” it is not an endorsement, accreditation, or guarantee of your business by GetFriendly.

3. Accurate listings

Your business name, description, location, logo, perks and event details must be truthful and kept up to date. You must genuinely be the business you represent. Misrepresenting your business, your offers, or another business is a breach of these Terms and may result in suspension or removal.

You must provide genuine photos of your premises (or, for a mobile, pop-up or market trader, your stall/setup) that accurately show and match your business. These photos are displayed on your public profile, are used by us โ€” and by members โ€” to verify the business is real, and are locked once you are verified: changing them afterwards requires our approval, so what we verified stays what is shown. You confirm that you own or are licensed to use every photo you upload, and that you have the consent of any identifiable person appearing in them. Mobile/pop-up/market traders must also provide proof they trade (for example a market trader licence or a pitch/booking confirmation). Uploading photos that are not of your business, or that you have no right to use, is a breach of these Terms.

4. Your events & your responsibility

You โ€” not GetFriendly โ€” are the organiser of any event you host. You are solely responsible for:

GetFriendly does not organise, staff, supervise, inspect or insure your events, and is not liable for them. Listing an event on GetFriendly does not make us a co-organiser or partner in any legal sense.

5. Capacity, waitlists & "first come, first served"

You set each event's capacity. Spots are allocated first come, first served, and a waitlist may fill freed spots automatically. You're responsible for honouring confirmed spots and for managing your own door/entry. Some events may be made available only to Friendly+ members where you choose that option.

6. Perks, offers, discounts & sales

Any perk, discount or offer you advertise is a promise between you and the customer โ€” you must honour it on its stated terms. GetFriendly is not the seller, takes no part in the transaction, processes no payment between you and attendees, and is not responsible for goods or services you provide. You are responsible for your own pricing, refunds, consumer-law obligations and taxes.

7. Reviews

Reviews of your events come only from members who checked in with a location tag at the event. You may not buy, exchange, incentivise dishonestly, post fake, or otherwise manipulate reviews, and you may not demand the removal of honest ones. We don't edit or remove reviews simply because they're unflattering. Reviews are the opinions of members, not of GetFriendly.

8. Subscription & billing

9. Suspension & removal

We may pause, unverify, remove or delete a business account โ€” and its events โ€” at our discretion, including for breach of these Terms, misrepresentation, unsafe conduct, or a credible report that a business is not what it claims to be (for example, not operating at the location stated). Where reasonable we'll email you the reason, along with any relevant evidence, but we never disclose who reported you. A suspended or removed business may not create a new account to get around this.

If your business account is suspended or removed for a breach of these Terms, any active subscription is forfeited and is not refunded, and you may lose access and your live listing immediately.

10. Data you handle

When members attend or check in at your events you may see limited information (such as a display name and that someone checked in). You must use that information only to run that event, keep it secure, not contact people for unrelated marketing without their consent, and comply with applicable data-protection law (including UK GDPR) for any personal data you collect directly. For that data you are an independent controller; you are not permitted to export, sell or repurpose member information from GetFriendly.

11. Brand use

You may say you are "on GetFriendly" or a "Friendly Business" while your account is active and verified. You may not use our name or logo in a way that implies endorsement, partnership or sponsorship beyond an ordinary listing, and you must stop if your account ends.

12. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GetFriendly is not liable for your events, your offers, your sales, or any loss, injury or dispute arising between you and attendees or third parties. You agree to indemnify GetFriendly against claims arising from your business, your events, or your breach of these Terms. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Changes

We may update these Business Terms. If changes are material we'll let you know in the app and update the date above. Continuing to use a business account after changes means you accept them.

14. Governing law

These Business Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, United Kingdom, and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, unless applicable consumer or business law requires otherwise.
